There you visit Urquhart Castle on the shore of Loch Ness, and the Award-Winning Loch Ness Centre & Exhibition where the story of the area and, yes, the notorious Monster legend are told in a series of science based Audio/Visual Presentations which allow visitors to come to their own conclusions as to whether there is, or was, something in the Loch ! Continuing south along the shore of the Loch you reach Invermoriston where you turn northwest through Glen Shiel to the village of Dornie where the option exists to visit Eilean Donan Castle, home of the Clan Macrae. North from Dornie you cross the bridge on to the Isle of Skye. Breakfasts are included in the Package Costs.
Thursday 2nd August 2018
Our plan today is to use minibuses to take you on a tour of the Isle of Skye. The smaller vehicles will allow you to travel routes that the large coach couldn’t negotiate. The minibuses will meet you at the Portree Hotel at 09:00/09.30 . They will work independently to avoid you driving in convoy but, inevitably, you will be at the same place at the same time on occasions. You will head north from Portree on the Trotternish Peninsula. You will pass the Old Man of Storr area, the Falls of Leallt and the Kilt Rock Viewpoint on to the north coast. There you will visit the Museum of Island Life and the Kilmuir Graveyard last resting place of Flora MacDonald. Heading west through Uig you visit the Waternish Peninsula before arriving at the town of Dunvegan. There you visit Dunvegan Castle, ancestral home of the Chiefs of the Clan McLeod for over 850 years. From there it’s back to Portree for the rest of the afternoon. If anyone has specific interest they would like catered for on the Isle of Skye instead of a bus tour, they are invited to make contact and let us know. Options might include hiking, a wildlife boat trip, a tour of the Talisker Single Malt Whisky Distillery and fishing.

The Package Costs do not include
The Package Costs do NOT include your travel arrangements in and out of Scotland.
Both deposits and final balance Payments made for our Vacation Packages are non-refundable. We therefore strongly recommend when booking a vacation, whether it be with "Silver Skye" or indeed with any other Tour Operator, that you take out Travel Insurance at that time covering against cancellation for any and all reasons. We further recommend that the content of your Package is explained to Insurers in order that all risks during your trip are covered by your Policy. We particularly recommend that anyone intending to take part in Sporting Activities during a "Silver Skye" vacation ensures they are covered for injury and loss during such participation.
In Scotland and the rest of the UK, where a three hour flight can take you to literally dozens of other countries, there's a vast multitude of Travel Insurance policies for sale. Unfortunately, insurance regulations in the UK prevent Silver Skye, or any other Tour Operator, selling these policies to Guests from other Countries coming into the UK for their vacations. We have tried to find a way around this system but without success. What we suggest therefore is that you search on the Internet under "Trip Insurance" and/or "Travel Insurance" and you'll find a number of policies which can be bought online. Many of our Guests also find that the Agent from whom they purchased their flights can supply good local insurance advice.
